Iraq on Wednesday (17/12) appealed to the UN Security Council over its refusal to allow arms inspectors into presidential palaces as the United States warned Baghdad it was running the risk of military action.
In a news conference later on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz said Iraq was convinced it had fullfilled the requirements for disarmament.

I raised the question of the use of U-2 , this US plane should stop and another plane could be used, could be an Iraqi plane..we were on the edge of agreeing,or we can use an other country, he promised to consider the matter";
