Logging and Reporting: Firewalls maintain logs of network activities, which can be crucial for analyzing security incidents, identifying threats, and generating reports for compliance purposes.

Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS): Some modern firewalls incorporate IDS/IPS features to detect and prevent various network-based attacks by continuously monitoring for suspicious activities and patterns.

Firewalls are a fundamental component of network security, providing a crucial layer of defense to safeguard sensitive information, resources, and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
