Madhan, son of poet and lyricist Vairamuthu, debuted as a lyricist with Rajinikanth's super hit Tamil movie Endhiran in which he penned the super hit songs 'Boom Boom Robo Da' and 'Irumbile oru Irudhaiyam'. He also assisted director Shankar in writing the dialogues for the film. He has also written dialogues for super hit films such as Baahubali (Tamil version) and Masss. Madhan Karky also created a new language called Kiliki for the Kalakeya tribes in the movie Baahubali.

Dr.Madhan Karky is a linguist and has created a variety of tools for generating lyrics, lyrical analytics, etc. He is an avid photographer too.
