NZ Series Ep. 4: Sailing and dodging Cyclone Gabrielle

Knowing that bad weather was coming, we made the most of the calm before the storm. Extra tropical Cyclone Gabrielle was a category 2 cyclone by the time it reached us. We arrived early in a good sheltered anchorage in Bay Of Islands to prepare as best as we could. This was new for us!
The storm was a Saturday until Wednesday. That's long enough!

The worst winds for us were over 54 knots.

We know that we are lucky compared to many others.
