Sasha Martin discusses memories from her childhood living in Boston, Massachusetts. She talks about what her mother would do to entertain her as a child and about entering foster care. She describes her life abroad as a teen in France and Luxembourg and eventually returning to the United States to attend school. Martin comments on what life was like during her time at the Culinary Institute of America and her path to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She describes how she came to write her book, Life from Scratch, which documents her journey to cook one dish from every country in the world.
