The song, "Crossed Wires" was a remote collaboration through The Music District in Fort Collins, Colorado. The project revolved around a lead artist, in this round, Bevin Luna (https://www.bevinluna.com/), an established Northern Colorado musician, provided the initial musical idea. The whole process was like playing the telephone game with a song. After the debut of the lead artist’s track, signups opened for collaborators to apply. The lead artist chose 4 collaborators to help finish the song. Each collaborator tracked their own parts remotely and then passed them on to the next musician. I wrote the lyrics to this song with the thoughts of political division, discrimination and social unrest here in our country and across the globe. We polarize, we argue, we shut each other out, but where does that get us? We can't cancel history. We can't isolate certain groups of people because of our beliefs and backgrounds. There are seven billion of us. We are such a diverse and beautiful mixture of human beings. We can't all agree on everything, but we can always do better. This song is about recognizing our own power and strength within ourselves, educating ourselves, facing fears and standing up for what we believe.
