Engineering now a days is not only restricted to software or mechanical instead with a span of time, it has broadened its scope. Now a day BE/ BTech EIE is also more preferable by students, as it provides them with a bright future ahead. EIE refers to Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. It is almost similar to ECE. The only difference lies in C and I, where C stands for Communication, I for Instrumentation.
This is an undergraduate degree in four years. The students can pursue it after completing their Plus Two with Minimum 50% score in each subject of sciences (PCM). One should specifically have knowledge of Physics and mathematics. The students will also have to appear for an entrance exam i.e. EAMCET. Then the admissions are given according to the ranks obtained in the entrance examination.
About: Basically, this engineering is one of the most sophisticated branches of engineering. It can either be studied as a separate branch or along with electronic engineering. The BE/ BTech EIE deals in maintainence, design and development of instruments used within the industries. The professionals are known as instrumentation engineers. Their work is to decide the best quality instruments to be used for final product manufacturing.
It deals with the following:

• Semiconductor devices
• Instrumentation used in power plants
• Electronic systems in phones, washing machines etc.
During the BE/ BTech EIE course, students will have to go through the major subjects like Power Plant Instrumentation, sensors and signal conditioning, pulse and digital circuits, microprocessors, electronic devices and circuits, electronic measurements.

They can work in the field of power supply, chemical plants.Their main task is to ensure betterment in the reliability, stability, safety, productivity and optimization of instruments used to manufacture products. Not just this, one can also get the software jobs.
Some of the major electrical companies are BEL, ONGC, Steel Authorities Of India Limited. Whearas the software companies are Wipro, Tcs, Infoysis and many others hire graduates with a minimum 60 % score. These companies conduct interviews and written examination before hiring, so before hand preparation is needed.
The sectors in which one can work after graduation are R&D department of companies like steel plants, thermal power stations, cement plants and refineries. Also one can get himself employed in companies specialized in manufacturing instruments.
Higher studies: In order to pursue higher education, one has to go for M Tech in electronics and instrumentation engineering. Higher studies help a lot as one gets specialization in a particular field, also one earns more salary. Higher studies give in depth knowledge of the study and also makes a student confident.
Remuneration: A graduate in BE/ BTech EIE can get minimum of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per month. The salary of a fresher can vary depending on many factors like the type of company (public or private), qualification, skills, intellectual level of an individual, experience and so on.
