You might wonder if you do this modified (can I still make the original weedless wacky jigs) and the answer is YES. The jigs might require a small amount of flashing to be clipped off before paint, but to be honest most jigs require that anyway if you're picky like myself. It's very simple to clip off with a flush cutter and you'd never guess that it had any access lead run along the hook shank.

Watch the video to the end because I pour one of the jigs, and share how I make a nice smooth nose after clipping the sprue off. I also show how it looks with a soft plastic on it.
