In this video I have been able to discuss the concept of settlement of property in the event of divorce under the Nigerian law.

This video basically borders on the following questions:

1. Whether property jointly or separately acquired will be considered for settlement in the event of divorce ;

2. Whether a party can claim settlement of his/her partner’s property when there are no children of the marriage;

3. Whether a party of a void marriage can make an application for settlement of property in his/her favour;

4. Whether personal property such as shares, electronics , furniture etc will be considered for settlement in the event of divorce.
