Rebozo Hip Squeeze - Pregnancy and Labor

Описание к видео Rebozo Hip Squeeze - Pregnancy and Labor

The rebozo hip squeeze is a great way to relieve low back and pelvis pain during pregnancy, and especially during labor. The rebozo creates a counter pressure on through the hips and sacroiliac joints. This can be done without a rebozo, but is very tiring on the person holding this position when using their arms and hands.

Using the rebozo for the hip squeeze is a nice way to support the mother and be able to hold this comforting position for her for a longer period of time. This feels good during labor because the pelvis is having to open up significantly to allow for the baby to pass through and this opening of the pelvis can cause quite a bit of discomfort in the pelvis/hip region.

To do this, gather the rebozo under the belly, around the hips, and pull in opposite directions. You can then add a twist to keep it tight and add more counter pressure on the back. The rebozo should be lower than most people think and should lay over the greater trochanter (aka near the top of the femur). The rebozo should essentially be running across the middle of the individual's butt.
