Best Way To Seal Copper Oil Lines? (Fluorosilicone Seals - Update)

I’ve tried multiple different things over the years to seal my copper oil lines and have them not leak, and I think I have finally found the solution!

I don’t like the idea of using a compression fitting to seal the hard lines on my shovelhead for a couple different reasons: the biggest reason being that having a solid connection at the fittings could make the line more prone to vibration, causing them to harden over time.

And, after some trial and error and a few experiments, I think I have finally found something that will work long term! The fluorosilicone tubing from McMaster Carr is oil and fuel proof AND also has a heat rating of up to 450° Fahrenheit making it perfect for sealing my copper lines 😎
Not only does the soft material provide a great sealing surface in high temperature, but it also gives enough cushion to allow for some cushion at every fitting.
