Introducing our latest LOTUS Artist - Derrick Gardner! 🔥🎺❤️

Derrick is a strong performer and sought-after educator, performing with the world-famous Count Basie Orchestra and his own sextet, The Jazz Prophets, to name a few.

In this video, you get to follow Derrick’s play-testing session together with us at PM Woodwind in Chicago, where he tries a bunch of different Mouthpieces and Trumpets.Derrick’s group, The Jazz Prophets, was formed in 1991 and 30+ years later it continues to be the primary vehicle of his distinctive, hard-driving music. Derrick’s recording by The Jazz Prophets, ”Echoes of Ethnicity”, marked his second Owl Studios release in April 2009 and was named by Music Resource Group as the winner in the 9th annual Independent Music Awards, the influential awards program for independent bands and fans, for Best Jazz Album 2009.

Recently, Derrick has been appointed Director of Jazz Studies at Northwestern University.He is playing a LOTUS Solo MAX Trumpet as well as 2XL2 and 2L2 Mouthpieces.
