ভারতীয় রেল হল বিশ্বের তৃতীয় বৃহত্তম রেল নেটওয়ার্ক, যেখানে বিশ্বের দীর্ঘতম ট্রেন লাইন থেকে শুরু করে দেশের ক্ষুদ্রতম রেলওয়ে প্ল্যাটফর্ম সবই মেলে। তালিকায় রয়েছে ভার‌তের সর্বোচ্চ রেলস্টেশনের নামও। অনেকেই অবশ্য সেই রেলস্টেশনটির নাম শোনেননি। বার অনেকেই হয়তো শুনেছেন। স্টেশনের নাম ঘুম। স্টেশনে রেল চলাচল শুরু হয়েছিল ১৮৮১ সালে। সমুদ্রপৃষ্ঠ থেকে ঘুম স্টেশনের উচ্চতা ৭৪০৭ ফুট। দার্জিলিং থেকে মাত্র ঘুমের দূরত্ব মাত্র ৮ কিলোমিটার। ইউনেস্কো ওয়ার্ল্ড হেরিটেজ তালিকায় স্থানপ্রাপ্ত টয় ট্রেনটিও এই স্টেশন দিয়ে চলে।

Indian Railways is the third largest rail network in the world, with everything from the longest train lines in the world to the smallest railway platforms in the country. The list also includes the names of the highest railway stations in India. Many, however, have not heard the name of that railway station. Many may have heard. The name of the station is Ghum. Railway service started at the station in 1881. The height of Ghum station is 7407 feet above sea level. It is only 8 km from Darjeeling. The UNESCO World Heritage listed toy train also runs through this station.

দার্জিলিং থেকে ঘুম যাওয়ার সময়, চোখে পড়বে বাতাসিয়া লুপ। এটি আসলে ট্রেনের ট্র্যাকের একটি মোড়। এখানকার চারপাশের সৌন্দর্য মন্ত্রমুগ্ধ করে দেয়। এখান থেকে নজরে পড়বে তুষার বোঝাই পাহাড় চূড়া।

On the way to Ghum from Darjeeling, Batasia Loop will be visible. It is actually a junction of train tracks. The beauty around here is mesmerizing. Snow laden mountain peaks can be seen from here.
