Meet Raghavasimhan Sankaranarayanan, Ph.D., a Research Scholar at Georgia Institute of Technology, who has created Hathaani – an innovative AI-powered robotic violinist.

Using machine learning and a Chitravina-inspired design, Hathaani performs Carnatic music with remarkable precision, improvising intricate gamakas that seamlessly blend tradition with cutting-edge technology.

Sankaranarayanan, a seasoned musician with over 200 album credits and more than 2,000 performances, collaborated with Professor Gil Weinberg, Director of the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology, to develop custom systems that address the limitations of Western-centric music technology.
