How to travel within Vietnam?
There are 2 main ways to travel:
1. Book a cab or motorbike- you can do this by an app called “Grab” I would recommend you download the application before you land in Vietnam for convenience. The prices are reasonable and it works great as you don’t get lost in translation while explaining the driver where to go.
2. Rent a motorbike: you can do that through any local vendor near your stay. Trust me it feels like there are more motorbikes than people in Vietnam hence it’s easy to find these shops.
You can ask your homestay/ AirBnB / hotel stay manager for renting out motorbikes. They can get you the best prices trust me.
The average cost of rental is between ₹300-500
Nobody asks for a driving license before giving you the motorbike.
Try giving half money before renting half later but if they don’t agree and ask for full amount, just do a test run of the vehicle.
Also remember the fuel cost is often not included in the rent so you have to get the tank fuel yourself.
Another tip- remember to take the phone number of the motorbike rental person to coordinate if you get stuck or get delayed in returning the bike.
