The Numbers Archive Part 1 E03 and E03a Shortwave Spies

Описание к видео The Numbers Archive Part 1 E03 and E03a Shortwave Spies

Welcome to this first presentation describing in-active numbers stations that were found on shortwave radio.

I use the station designations from the Enigma 2000 numbers station analysts group.

Where better to start than with the iconic E03 and E03a.
E03 was known as the Lincolnshire Poacher, due to its call up tune.
After we move onto E03a Cherry Ripe, again named because of its call up tune.

These stations were uniquely British and it is suggested they were operated by MI6.

Cherry Ripe was at one time described as E04.

In this video I’ll describe what is known about these two icons of out of band broadcasting.

I hope you enjoy it and will look out for the next feature.
