We are truly honored and delighted to receive this award.

Thank you to the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce and the judges for recognizing Custom Media as the 2025 SME of the Year. According to the World Bank, SMEs represent around 90% of all businesses worldwide. And here in Japan, SMEs employ roughly 70% of the working population and contribute about 55% of the nation’s GDP — that’s something we can all be proud of.

Over our 17 year history at Custom Media, we’ve had to adapt and reinvent ourselves several times. First from a print publishing and advertising business to a digital advertising and production business, and now becoming a full-service B2B PR and marketing agency. A journey that we embarked on in the aftermath of the covid-19 pandemic.

Following this transformation we’ve been very fortunate to collaborate with some amazing clients, organisations such as IDA Ireland, helping to attract FDI from Japanese companies into Ireland, to representing Japanese startups that bring cutting-edge technology to the world, such as XELA Robotics that manufacture advanced tactile sensors giving robots the human sense of touch to advance businesses in the assembly, packaging, and agricultural industries, to working with global brands entering and expanding in Japan in Manufacturing, Clean Energy, Healthcare, Technology and Artificial Intelligence, companies in truly revolutionary industries that are shaping our future and inspiring us with their innovation and purpose.

Today we are faced with a new challenge, the rapidly evolving world of AI that is disrupting all industries, especially marketing. But through all this change, the one thing that has always stayed the same for us are our people. Simon and I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside a talented and dedicated team who show up every day with creativity, resilience, and passion.

I may be the one standing here collecting this award, but it truly belongs to our team. At Custom Media and AIM B2B, we have a simple purpose, that is to inspire and be inspired every day by our amazing team. This one is for them!
