Cumberland Mine RR / Iron Senergy purchased 20 used hoppers from Melvin Stone in Ohio. The cars were delivered to a siding at the former Shannopin Mines in Poland Mines, PA. The siding belongs to Longview Power and had to be rehabilitated by Frontier before NS would deliver the cars.

It was only a matter of a few days after NS delivered the cars that Pattison Company loaded the cars intact and transported them to Cumberland Mines Alicia Harbor shops over a period of two days. The cars were built in 1973 by Thrall. Cumberland Mine RR is a completely isolated railroad that was built in 1975 to service the mine / prep plant at Kirby, PA (formerly owned by U.S. Steel) and deliver the coal to the barge loading facility 16 miles away at Alicia Harbor.

That Mack was pure business and handled the hills with the load with ease.
