Here's 5 top tips to make your debt reduction goals successful, and stick to them in the long run:

1. Work with a Wealth Management Advisor. For individuals with young people in their lives, giving them some key skills to stay on top of debt is one of the best life skills you can offer. A Wealth Management Advisor will keep them on track and teach them valuable skills.

2. Keep goals attainable. The number one reason goals fail is because they’re too hard to achieve. Set goals that are a stretch but still within reach.

3. Break your bigger financial goals down into micro goals. A year is a long time! You can get from here to there in steps - and don’t forget to reward yourself along the way.

4. What's your “why?” (from Simon Sinek). Dig into why you have the goal. For example, what will it mean for you when you achieve your goals, and why are you motivated to make a change?

5. Envision Success. What will it feel like when you succeed? Fill in as many details as you can, so you can fully visualize it. Olympic athletes use this technique all the time, because it works!
