Sailing Adventure Gone Wrong: From Rio Dulce, Guatemala to Belize

Join me on this exciting sailing adventure as I set solo sailing from Rio Dulce, Guatemala and make my way towards Belize. My journey begins with the necessary process of going through customs and immigration before i can officially leave Guatemala.

Once cleared, I set off on our voyage, enjoying the stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and the beautiful coastline along the way. However, my adventure takes a turn when i fall ill and require urgent medical attention.

Despite my best efforts to help myself I quickly realize that the situation is beyond my control and I need assistance from the coast guard. Thanks to the quick response and expertise of the Belize coast guard, I was safely transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.

Although my sailing adventure did not go as planned, it was a valuable lesson in the importance of being prepared for any situation that may arise while at sea. Join me as I reflect on my experience and share tips on how to stay safe and enjoy sailing adventures to the fullest.
