Norfolk Southern's R3 Dual Rail Gang replacing ribbon rail on the EC-line (Part 1) - 12/3/2020

On December 3rd, 2020, I went out to Norfolk Southern's EC-line a few miles timetable east of James City, NC to document the R3 Dual Rail Gang replacing the existing 1950s era 100lb rail with newer 136lb rail. The R3 Dual Rail Gang was staying in New Bern for the course of about two weeks - replacing rail between James City (across the Trent River from New Bern) and Havelock, NC. In this video (part 1 of 2), shot at Riverdale Rd and West Camp Kiro Rd, NS P29 is seen rolling east towards Havelock and Morehead City ahead of the R3 Gang, and most of the rail replacement is documented. In part 2, the final steps (filling in the crossing, picking up temporary rail clamps, the equipment 'parade' heading back to the siding, and NS P29 heading back west are featured). Enjoy the video!
