Chemistry undergrads from across Oregon flooded Portland State's Science Research & Teaching Center for the first undergraduate poster symposium and career fair. Placing first in the materials category was Grant Marquart of PSU, along with his partner Thomas Miesen, a PSU alumnus. They received a cash award of $150. Marquart and Miesen’s project focused on the creation of hybrid membrane lipids—compounds that form the surfaces of biological cells. Video by Miles Sanguinetti.
