In September of 2018, a unique arrangement of "The Victors," by Jerry Bilik (BM '55, MM '61), was performed for the first time since 1967 by SMTD's University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Kenneth Kiesler.

"Variations on a College Song" presents six musical transformations of “The Victors,” each written in the style of canonical composers (Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Stravinsky). The piece was debuted by the New York Philharmonic at Hill Auditorium, under the direction of Leonard Bernstein.
