Healthy Quinoa Upma

Описание к видео Healthy Quinoa Upma

Quinoa is a type of edible seed that comes in various colors including black, red, yellow, and white. The plant has been cultivated for about 5000 years and is indigenous to the Andean region of South America, specifically Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, and Peru.

It is a great source of fiber. Fiber can prevent or treat constipation and may lower your risk of intestinal cancers. It also helps you feel full longer, so it may help with weight loss. Maintaining a healthy weight is important for heart health.
Since the dietary fiber content in quinoa is higher than the content for many other grains, quinoa can be particularly beneficial for people with diabetes, since fiber and protein are considered important for keeping blood sugar under control.

You can eat one-two cups of cooked quinoa in a day. You should avoid eating it if you experience stomachache, itchiness or vomiting after consuming it. A study by Harvard Public School of Health has reported that eating a bowl of quinoa daily is healthy and without any side effects.
Like anything, you should eat quinoa in moderation. For example, overeating fiber can lead to an upset stomach, gas and bloating, constipation and diarrhea.

Though its origins are found even before pre-Columbian civilization in Peru and Bolivia, quinoa is no stranger to us Indians. This nutty grain is in fact a member of be Chard, Beetroot and Spinach family and is popularly known as ‘Bathua’

In my video today, I have shown how to make Upma which is a healthy Indian tiffin / breakfast made using quinoa, vegetables and tempered with spices.
