City I Was Born

I wrote this song in one hour.
Two weeks ago, I created a song in honor of my city. It was patriotic, (as it should be) for our Independence Day. But this song encapsulates my feelings and wishes for this city all other 364 days of the year - when we might feel a little less patriotic, but still love our country. When things happen to frustrate us, but we want things to be better. When some people are still denied access to so much, but we hope that can change.

So much came up for me in writing it. This is a song to celebrate my dreams for this city, the things I am very proud of, and all the things I hope we achieve moving forward.

Reminded me a little of that moment in The Hobbit when Richard Armitage sang Misty Mountains, when I played back my song after.
