The Clubhouse on Highland at 2908 Highland Avenue was designed in the Arts & Crafts Style by Birmingham architect William Weston and completed in 1910 for William S. Brown, president of the W. S. Brown Mercantile Company. The two story hill-top brick house later served as a home for the Alabama Federation of Women Clubs’ 3rd District for over 60 years, and continues its charitable legacy today, hosting organizations and events dedicated to the wellness, education and betterment of the Birmingham community as well as celebrating its milestones and memories with unforgettable social gatherings.
