The Nuestra Señora de Atocha shipwreck sink off the coast of the Florida Keys in 1622 due to a hurricane the scattered the contents of the hall across the sea floor. Over $500 million with gold and silver coins were recovered from the wreckage in 1985 by Mel Fisher and his team of treasure hunters.
