In this video we show you how to use the mid function to take part of a string. If you're familiar with other languages, this function is equivalent to the substring or substr function. It allows you to pull out something in the middle of a string, and in this video we use it in combination with the find function to separate strings into two parts and create two new features for our dataset based on the first part of the string and the second part of the string.
