Did you know now is the time to check if your attic insulation is working?

February 2021, it has snowed quite a bit here in Nashville, TN. We do not get much snow here these days. So it is an excellent time to go outside and look at your roof when it does snow here. Has your energy bill escalated? Does your house have enough or any insulation in the attic or the vaulted ceilings?

How and where the snow melts will tell you a lot about whether the attic insulation is working or not. Does your attic have enough or the right type of insulation, or are there problem areas?

My review of these photos is my non-scientific way to look at your roof. I have copied the Energy Vanguard website links below for the official building science explanation. You can conduct a search on their website for ‘snow on the roof.’ Enjoy!
