Northumbrian pipes in Gwydir Uchaf Chapel: The Great Exhibition/The Morpeth Rant

Описание к видео Northumbrian pipes in Gwydir Uchaf Chapel: The Great Exhibition/The Morpeth Rant

Came across this wonderful little chapel dating back to 1673 whilst on holiday in North Wales. The acoustics were fantastic!
The first tune is from the pen of the famous Tyneside fiddler James Hill (1811-53), popularised on the Northumbrian pipes by Billy Pigg (1902-68). The second is probably the most widespread Northumbrian tune, and can be heard in sessions across Great Britain. As far as I know its origins are unknown!
