In the recent years Victor Bernardo has established himself as one of the world's most elegant and stylish free surfers, but few know that he has risen to the top mainly because he has been able to fight. His story begins in a favela in Guaruja, near São Paulo, and passes through hardships that would have knocked anyone down. But not Victor, who never gave up.

With his wife Johnni by his side, he fought his way back to the United States after being deported, won back sponsors, took a job as a waiter when he lived in the California desert to earn day-trips to surf the coast.

Victor's story teaches that talent without sacrifice, dedication and a willingness to fight can easily go to waste.
