The Loch Ard Forest Walk route was circular in an clockwise direction with five legs and about 4 miles in distance. It started from Milton forest car park, at grid reference NN 498 010. The terrain of the route was a combination of forest tracks and paths. The walking was easy on level or undulating ground with gradual slopes. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.
