Medium ALICE Pack with Case, Map and Photograph and LC-1 Ammunition Pouch

Описание к видео Medium ALICE Pack with Case, Map and Photograph and LC-1 Ammunition Pouch

This Medium ALICE Pack is contract dated 1984 and is matched to eighties components from the ALICE System. The U.S. Case, Map and Photograph is lined against the weather using the M1A1 CBR Mask Waterproof Bag. This is a basic jacket-liner-poncho/poncho-liner, warm-season scout kit for use up to six days in the field if water can be accessed every 24 hours (still room for broken-down MREs in stake bags along the sides of the main pack compartment). At the top of the main compartment is an M3 Medical Equipment Bag loaded with some survival equipment considered to be essential for a given outing. The map case is added to the ruck for stowage at site purposes, not for ruck marching unless deemed absolutely necessary and safe enough given the situation.

Important Caveat: The German Army Wet Weather Poncho might be more usefully placed on the other side of the U.S. Map Case, with only a file or a field manual inside the map case. It is wise not to try and do too much with military equipment, excepting some emergencies.

Another caveat for this video is that not all ruck configurations are suitable for ruck marching, as much as for vehicular transport or at-site stowage purposes. I would not take a map case on a ruck march unless I decided it was absolutely necessary to do so (some kind of emergency involving shorter rucking distance); ALICE Packs have a radio-pouch in the main compartment that is ideal for carrying files and field manuals (with fully appropriate waterproofing).

Another caveat for this and other ALICE Pack videos is that different experts, including military experts differ in how they recommend conducting ruck-march activities including the backpack configurations and the loads carried. I have learned to be efficient and only carry what I deem to be essential for a given ruck march, and I carry as light a load as possible, especially when training and ruck-marching periodically with my ruck. People can find themselves permanently injured carrying too much weight too far and with not enough rest breaks.
