Best Broadhead Choice for Bowhunting MOOSE

Описание к видео Best Broadhead Choice for Bowhunting MOOSE

When We talk about the best broadheads for moose. Of course, there's a whole wide array of options in the industry right now. If you make the mistake of getting on Facebook and typing into one of the forums, what is the best Broadhead for moose? You're going to see hundreds of comments. And unfortunately, most of those are probably from guys that have never hunted or killed the moose.

Some of the important things to take into consideration first off is of course, accuracy. You need to get kind of an average of how far, what distance you think that you'll be shooting your moose from and have practiced from that distance.

So let's first talk about broadheads that may not be the best choice. For me personally, I think that when you look at mechanical broadheads that have giant cuts, especially two, two and a half, three inches broadheads that are a combination of fixed with other mechanicals behind them that open up into giant cuts. I think you're asking for trouble there for a couple of reasons,

First of all, you really have to have a lot of kinetic energy and momentum to get those broadheads to bury deep. When they have all this outside surface area, you know, you're going to have to consider, you've got these wings out to the side. You have to cut more ribs. You have to cut through a lot more stuff. So if you are going to consider a mechanical for your moose hunt, you need to consider mechanical that is lower profile.

But most often we are going to be talking about moose associated with fixed blade broadheads, and oftentimes those broadheads are going to be a lower profile, fixed blade, broadheads. Maybe they don't have a giant cut either. Again, you're trying to slip this broadhead into a set of heavy ribs and into the vitals as deep as you can. You want as much lung and heart involvement as you can get.

Now those organs are huge on a moose, right? You have a giant heart. You have this giant set of lungs. There's plenty of surface area there as long as you're accurate with what you're shooting. So when you look at a broadhead, that might be a good consideration.

Fixed is a great way to go. And as my personal preference now, I don't think it matters on that fixed blade, broadhead. If it's a single bevel, a two blade, a two blade was bleeders, a three blade, a four blade, even as long as that Broadhead is constructed very well. It's super sharp and extremely durable. And the last part of that, again, flies right out of your setup. If you have a well-tuned bow arrows tuned to your bow, you shouldn't have any problems, but you have to make sure that you've practiced at the distances.
