Stop OVERworking: this is why you STUCK in the RAT RACE

Success is the catalyst for failure, it doesn’t sound so right, that’s how I felt when I heard of this quote for the very first time. But give me a minute to explain to you how profound this is: “the paradox of success” explains how a young driven executive who had a major breakthrough of his career, and is eager to build more success stories, thus trying to grasp every passion and opportunities that come across.

In this process, he lost his ability to focus on the vital few from the trivial many. His attention span got stretched thinner and thinner. Instead of focusing on the 20% of the cause that generate the most outcomes, he values all opportunities as equal and only claims the 20% of the outcome from his devotion to the 80% non-essential work and causes.

So this book “Essentialism: the discipline of pursuit of less”written by Greg Mckeown is a book I’ve been obsessed with recently. It’s a good book to set a nice tune for the beginning of this year. Still not too late to read it if you want to start it now.
