Made in the Black Forest of Germany, this clock uses the German Regula 8 day musical movement which is reliable and easy to service. Three cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the brass, tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call. This clock has a night shut off switch for quiet time or night use. The pendulum swings back and forth to allow the escapement of the mechanical mechanism. The cuckoo call is created by two bellows mounted on top of whistles inside the clock and actuated by wires at the correct time.
