The Unlikely Candidates - A-Sides Acoustic Performance "High Low" & "Novocaine"

Isolation is a bitch, and most of us have felt it in some way (or all ways) since this pandemic started. That's probably why The Unlikely Candidates' new alt-rock hit "High Low" resonates so dang much. "dang" a word word? Well, spellcheck bypassed it so it must be.)

Sometimes I get so high so low
Where did all my good friends go

"High Low" is a song that was fittingly recorded in quarantine, but was actually written before Covid-19. Band frontman Kyle Morris did tweak some lyrics though to add some more weight to these heavy times. The song is a follow-up to the band's smash "Novocaine." It's no small feat trying to follow-up that track. It topped Alt Radio for two weeks, charted for over 30 weeks, and hit over 21 million views on YouTube. That's not to say the band hasn't had other smashes. There's "Oh My Dear Lord" and "Your Love Could Start A War," which get way more play than that mixtape you made for that girl in junior high.

They performed both songs exclusively for A-Sides. Visit www.medium.com/@jonchattman for the interview.

Before you watch - some background: The band formed in Fort Worth, TX and consists of Kyle Morris (vocals), Brenton Carney (lead guitar), Cole Male (guitar), Jared Hornbeek (bass) and Kevin Goddard (drums). Ok, enjoy these guys. Great band. Great music. No political agenda - just The Unlikely Candidates.
