'Broll: Buried Alive' (Beta Films) is the first in a planned series of screen adventures based on the “Broll + Baroni” mysteries by award-winning Austrian author Bernhard Aichner. Laurence Rupp (Murder by the Lake) stars as wisecracking gravedigger Max Broll, whose stepmother Tilda is the local police commissioner. Jürgen Vogel (Blochin) plays Kai Baroni, a former Austrian soccer star and Max’s best friend. Together, the pair plans a movie night in the cemetery of the local church – much to the pastor’s chagrin, the evening’s viewing is Night of the Living Dead. But the zombie-fest is interrupted by a mysterious phone call, and soon Broll and Baroni are on a race against time to find Max’s stepmother before it’s too late…
