Video 2 from our 6/5/24 trip. After recording the flu/COVID-infected T-128 in Notasulga, I went back to this shot-up analog siren to rerecord it with my better cameras and get a nicer video of it running. I met up with James (‪@CentralALSirens‬ ), Evan ( ‪@Thunderboltmaniac‬ ) and Alex (‪ ‪@NepsterWX‬ ) there, while David ( ‪@freebrickproductions‬ ) went to another WPS-4004 in town. The system appeared to have some activation issues as they were SI testing before the test, which resulted in this one resetting back to its home position and only running about a minute of alert before switching to full attack. Some sirens ignored the cancel command for alert and outright ignored everything after the alert string of DTMF, which resulted in some running for full alert and no attack.

Montgomery County test on the first Wednesday of the month at 3:30 CST usually running a full cycle of alert and a full cycle of attack 10 minutes later. The system consists of a mix of WPS-4004s which replaced a system of Thunderbolts and Thunderbeams. The first generation 4004s like this siren were originally installed to add coverage to the existing CD system. At the moment, it's the only known one to still have its original panel, but we believe a few more are still lurking around, with older controllers still intact. In addition to that, the bases and airport have various ATI systems, which are tested every Wednesday at noon, and replaced a mix of ACA Screamer S-7.5s and S-2s and an analog WPS-2806A that I believe was originally tied into the county system.
