Charles, who has cancer, is supposed to travel with his furniture and toilet seats.
According to RadarOnline, Tom Bower reveals in his new book Rebel King that Charles sends his servants ahead of his trips with personal belongings to replicate his bedroom's comfortable circumstances for him.
An informant stated, "Charles finds comfort in familiarity, especially now that he is ill. His bed, sheets, and even his own lavatory seat all contribute to his sense of security.
"Some say it's eccentric, but given what he's facing, it's perhaps understandable," said the source.
The book's author wrote, "He sent his staff ahead a day early with a truck carrying furniture to replace the perfectly appropriate fittings in the guest rooms," continuing, "And not just the odd chest of drawers: the truck contained nothing less than Charles and Camilla's complete bedrooms, including the King's orthopaedic bed, along with his own clothes."
A different source added: "With his health situation, the comforts of home - Charles' orthopaedic bed, even his Kleenex toilet paper - have become, in the words of one friend, 'a shield against the chaos of life on the road.'"
It is important noting that King Charles has been receiving treatment for an unidentified type of cancer, which was discovered in February 2024.
