Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com Today we take a look at the TecNiq Recessed Mount Waterproof, Red LED Livewell Boat Light. Now, this is a nice small round LED light, that'll provide a bright red light, to illuminate your boat's livewell. And this can also be used for step and walkway lighting. It has a nice sealed waterproof housing and lens unit. Has an IP 68 rating. Uses a durable impact-resistant lens on it.
And it is a clear lens, over one red LED. Now, at the end of this video, I'm gonna hook this up to some 12V power, to show you how bright the light is, and the color. But I first wanna go over some of the features of it. It is a premium LED, which is energy efficient, long-lasting, and vibration resistant. It is rated for up to 50,000 hours of operation.
And they do use a military-grade construction of the circuit board on this light, which means the urethane potting will give you better protection than the common epoxy potting. Now, this is compatible with 12V DC systems. To install this, it is a recessed-mount installation, has this threaded nylon nut. You can see that you can loosen up and remove. And then it comes with also the two rubber gaskets.
Those two rubber gaskets will help create a nice weathertight seal and protect your boats finish, when you tighten this down in place. Now it will require a 3/4 inch diameter hole for installation of the light. And this does hardwire to your application. There's two wires in this nice protective sheeting here, a power and a crown. And the length of the wire's about nine inches.
A few dimensions, the diameter of this light is gonna be right at about 15/16 of an inch. And the depth of it is also about 15/16 of an inch. Input voltage is 9V to 14V. And what we're gonna do is go ahead and hook it up to some power. And once we get it hooked up, go ahead and turn on our power. And with that on, you can see the one red LED light up. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights and you can see the area that it does light up. Pretty big area. I am gonna zoom out from a distance, just so you can see also the area. Again, they recommend this for in your livewell, or you can even use it on step and walkway lighting, But for one LED it does cover a pretty big area. Zoom back in, and turn back on our overhead lights, and then we'll turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this TecNiq Recessed Mount Waterproof, Red LED Livewell Boat Light ..
