Goyescas is one of the summits of the Spanish piano music. In this video I talk about the images behind the music and the musical language that tries to express those images. Part 1 is about Goya's paitings and characters and how his world influenced Granados; Part 2 is a thorough analysis of the themes and motives.

The ideas in this video come from my own analysis, observation and performance of this work. Some are well-known and some are subjective personal images.

I got some historical information from the edition of Alicia de Larrocha, Douglas Riva and Xosé Aviñoa and from an article about Goya's paintings by Jose Maria Curbelo and Ariadna Martín.
