You Will Not Surely Die - The fall of man in Latin [Classical]

Описание к видео You Will Not Surely Die - The fall of man in Latin [Classical]

Genesis chapter 3 details the fall of mankind as the serpent tempts Eve to eat the fruit which they had been commanded not to eat, and Eve gives the fruit to Adam.

The Vulgate presents a peculiar take on the prophecy in Genesis 3:15 about the offspring of Eve. While the Hebrew gives a masculine pronoun "he shall bruise your head," and the Septuagint offers a masculine, "he shall watch against your head", the Clementine Vulgate has a feminine pronoun "ipsa" for "she shall bruise your head". The illustration I made for that verse reflects the feminine pronoun found in the Clementine Vulgate.
