🇲🇽 #6 La vida loca en ciudad de México

Описание к видео 🇲🇽 #6 La vida loca en ciudad de México

Our stay in CDMX (Ciudad de México) began with a bike tour 🚲 on the Paseo de la Reforma on Sunday morning. This famous street is closed to car traffic on Sundays, so we had the opportunity to cycle through the city and experience the city's impressive architecture and atmosphere.

During our week in CDMX, we attended a 🙇🙇‍♀️ language school in the mornings to practise our Spanish. The lessons didn't take place in the classroom, but in various cafés and parks in the city. In the afternoons, we always added a cultural programme, which was great, but also a bit exhausting.

Among other things, we visited the zoo in Chapultepec Park, where we had the rare opportunity to see a panda 🐼. The park is also home to Chapultepec Castle, from where you have an impressive view over the huge metropolis.
A cultural highlight was the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as "Casa Azul". The works and life of the iconic artist were very attractively displayed and the garden of the artist couple Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera invited visitors to linger. ☕️
In the evenings, we had a drink or two on the roof terrace of our accommodation, which offered a view of the skyline.

We also visited Teotihuacán, one of the largest pre-Columbian cities in Mesoamerica. This had its heyday between around the 1st and 7th centuries A.D. The city reached its peak in the 4th and 5th centuries and was one of the largest cities in the world at this time, with a population of up to 200,000 inhabitants. During this time, Teotihuacán was an important religious, economic and political centre in the region. The reasons for the rise and later decline of the city are still not fully understood, but archaeological finds point to a complex social system and a highly developed culture. In the last video, you can see a security guard 👓 making sure that nobody climbs up the pyramid. For safety reasons, you have not been allowed to climb it since 2009.

We were very impressed by life in and around México City with its diversity, cultural richness and atmosphere.🤠
