Part one of the story of our crossing of the North Atlantic Ocean on our 37 foot sailboat, Windrush. In this episode, we leave Annapolis, turn back to Cape Hatteras after crossing the Gulf Stream to wait out a storm, then finish the thousand mile passage to Bermuda. Our three person crew experience the highs and lows of ocean sailing -- dolphins, squalls and winds over 40 knots, sublime sunrises and sunsets, the solitude of solo night watches, and unmatched teamwork and camaraderie as sail across the wilderness of waves with only the distant company of fellow sailors also making the journey, somewhere over the horizon, as part of the ARC Rally.
