Описание к видео The Path Toward Becoming a Learning Health System – Stanford Children's Health

SMCI Lecture Series March 10th, 2021.

This talk will discuss a framework for enabling improvement and building capacity through project implementation. To facilitate our progress in developing a learning health system that enables continuous improvement and innovation in health, we have developed initiatives that benefit our patients, our care teams and our organization. The goal is to ensure new knowledge is captured as a by-product of our delivery system and that best practices are integrated into our daily work.

The Clinical Data Registry Program supports the use of registries to improve care and enable new discoveries. The Value Improvement Program enhances our capacity to lead value-based care delivery improvements across the care continuum. Our newly launched PEDSnet partnership will allow us to collaborate with a multi-institutional network of health systems on funded research and quality improvement projects. Patient and family engagement are critical for all 3 programs at Stanford Children’s Health.

Dr. Grace Lee is Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine and Associate Chief Medical Officer for Practice Innovation at Stanford Children’s Health. In her current role, Dr. Lee primarily serves as a clinical and administrative leader for the health system focused on bridging quality, research and implementation for the organization. She previously served as the Principal Investigator (PI) on the CDC-funded Vaccine Safety Datalink project, Associate Director of the FDA-funded Mini-Sentinel Project, PI of an AHRQ-funded grant to develop a national surveillance definition for pediatric ventilator-associated events and to identify potential intervention bundles to improve quality of care, and PI of an AHRQ-funded grant to evaluate the health and economic impact of the CMS Hospital-Acquired Conditions and Value-Based Purchasing policies. Dr. Lee is currently a member of the U.S. Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), a member of the COVID-19 Vaccines Workgroup, and Chair of the COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Technical Subgroup.
