We took a ride on the historic Norfolk and Western 611 - aka the Spirit of Roanoke - aka the Queen of Steam. This train is the only remaining N&W J Class steam locomotive. Jack has been wanting to go on a train excursion for a while so we jumped at the chance to ride the 611. We will talk a bit about the train's history and review our experience riding it. Stay tuned to the end to hear about some other train excursions currently being offered by the Virginia Scenic Railway. And along the way, we will share with you our post-train ride meal with our mothers at the Pink Cadillac Diner, and tell you about our experience at a nearby Airbnb. All aboard as we take you along on our journey!
