Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle is a track from Nirvana: In Utero. The lyrics refer to the famous actress Frances Farmer who was an outspoken, forward thinking woman during a time when most women were afraid to speak their minds. Her own Mother would go on to have her hospitalized within an Insane Asylum on Bainbridge Island off the coast of Puget Sound in Seattle.

Frances, being both attractive & famous would suffer all types of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of Asylum Staff. Years later, when she was finally released from custody, she discovered her Mother could have signed her out of the Asylum years earlier. Instead, her Mother left her there for more than 5 years while spending all of the money Frances had accrued from her various movie roles. She would end up working at a Holiday Inn Hotel during her remaining years.
