Rory Ryan | Booley Sessions

Rory Ryan is a Galway-based musician and producer taking influence from neo-psychedelia bands such as MGMT, Sunbeam Sound Machine, Beach House, Cigarettes After Sex and The Flaming Lips, as well as a deep love for the sounds of the 80’s.

His blissful debut EP, drenched in jaded nostalgia and washed out synth-heavy instrumentation, marked him out as one of the Galway artists to watch in 2021. This full-band performance for The Booley Sessions marks Rory Ryan out as one of the most exciting Irish acts to look out for in 2022.

The Booley Sessions are a series of short concert films curated and produced by The Black Gate in a stunning new space on Eglington Street in Galway city.

We are delighted to showcase the music of twelve exceptional Galway artists and are especially grateful to our neighbours at Booley for allowing us to record in their beautiful loft. At a time when the live music industry faces yet another deeply challenging period of restrictions and uncertainty, we hope that these concerts can provide a little bit of comfort and joy to you all.
