Follow these steps to compress a drum loop using Waves plugins:

Load the Waves plugin into your DAW's drum loop track.

Adjust the makeup gain to restore the track's overall level to where it was before compression.
Repeat these steps as needed, making adjustments to the attack time as you listen to the track to find the best balance of compression and transients.
